Random Daytime TV thoughts

So, I'm taking advantage of all this free time & undertaking the thrilling task of tidying the house, with the background accompaniment of VH1....

Musicians I'd punch if I saw them: Mick Hucknall, Phil Collins, Chris DeBurgh. Their very faces inspire insane contempt.

When talking to Andy earlier, I remarked that I've never really understood why U2 are so highly regarded, although "With Or Without You" is a quality tune. "Where The Streets Have No Name", "Mysterious Ways" and "Desire" are good, too. Oh, and "Hold Me, Thrill Me.." "Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" and "The Sweetest Thing". Then I realised that this is probably enough to qualify me as someone who "likes U2". I am officially getting old. And I have nothing but contempt for Bono. Smarmy tosser.

Slightly pertubed, I switched to one of those chart-music channels. I heard that one song from those Black Eyed Peas efforts about a month ago, and didn't get it out of my head until last week. In that time, they've seemingly released three new singles. Like every other flavour-of-the-week do, these no-marks are certainly milking their five minutes for all they're worth. Oh, for the days when celebrities had a bit of longevity. The days when celebrities were famous for.... well, something you could pinpoint, anyway. Why is Tara Palmer Tomkinson a household name, exactly?
